It’s the time of the year again for new generation of Apple iPads and Macs to be unveiled! As speculated, Apple has officially called for a special Apple media event which is scheduled to happen next week, October 16, 2014 (10 AM Pacific Time or 1 AM Philippine Time of Oct. 17th) at Apple’s campus in Cupertino, CA.

Based on last year’s schedule, this upcoming Apple October 2014 Keynote event is dubbed to reveal the next iteration of Apple iPad Air (possibly named iPad Air 2) and iPad Mini (iPad Mini 3) as well as upgrades for both iMac and Macbook lineup although the Cupertino company kept mum about the specifics of the event on their press invite.

As per recent rumors, the new Apple iPad Air 2 will sport an even thinner design measuring at only 7.0mm (0.5mm thinner compared to the current iPad Air) thanks to a new display assembly. Although general aesthetics and form factor remains the same, some physical changes will be implemented like elimination of the mute/vibration button, a larger single row speaker grill instead of two, repositioned microphones, and the inclusion of Apple’s TouchID fingerprint sensor.
