Creating a big buzz since yesterday, both Philippine telco giants – Smart Communications and Globe Telecom have revealed their free internet offers for their loyal subscribers.
Announced by Smart CEO himself, Manny V. Pangilinan unveiled their Smart free internet promo which gives all Smart, Talk N Text, and Sun Cellular prepaid subscribers 30 MB of daily internet access. To top up the move, Globe is also bringing back their FREE Facebook access to ALL Globe & TM subscribers starting next week.
With the intention to make mobile Internet available to all masses, Smart is making a bold move in giving away a free daily 30 MB internet allocation to all their Tri-Net prepaid subscribers for two (2) months or until
November 30, 2014 January 5, 2015. This is Smart’s first attempt to let everyone experience the Internet to as many people as possible. To date, this telco giant has a combined total Tri-Net subscribers of over 60 million.
Although 30 MB of data seems to be very small, Smart clearly laid down what you can do with just 30 MB such as:
- 20 social media posts with photo +
- 50 web pages loads +
- 20 plain emails +
- 15 minutes of music streaming

To answer back its competitor’s bold move, Globe Telecom is bringing back its Free Facebook access to their loyal subscribers, both prepaid and postpaid. First announced via their official social media pages (FB, Twitter, and Instagram), Globe and Touch Mobile can avail this offer starting the week of September 28.
Following the promo’s major success last year which ran for seven (7) months from October 2013 and extended until April 2014, Globe’s FREE Facebook access let’s their subscriber unlimited access Facebook’s mobile site via m.facebook.com free of charge. As for the duration and other specifics about the promo, no words were given yet so stay tuned for more updates here.
