The Samsung Galaxy V is Samsung’s latest entry-level dual SIM android smartphone to land here in the Philippines. Having a stiff competition with other local phone brands within the below 5K smartphone price range here in the country, the Samsung Galaxy V tries its luck to entice the public with its decent specs and competitive price point of only Php 4,990 (official SRP).
Looking through its specs, the Samsung Galaxy V is a 4-inch android smartphone powered by a 1.2 Ghz single core process with 512 MB of RAM. It’s a dual SIM phone capable of receiving fast data connection either via 3G or Wifi signal. It’s also packed with a number of sensors like GPS, accelerometer, and light sensor (for auto screen brightness). It’s 3MP rear camera and VGA front-facing camera are decent enough to take some basic pictures, though now as impressive as other cameras of similar price range.
Design-wise, the Galaxy V has the typical squarish Samsung design with rounded corners. Although the overall specs doesn’t have the “wow” factor in it, what makes it worth buying is the fact that it is running the last Android version (Kitkat) which packs a lot of performance improvements specially for entry-level smartphones.

So, the question now is: Would this phone worth buying/recommending? I would say yes given that your limited budget. But if you can spare a few more bucks, I would recommend holding your cash first and choose another budget smartphone with much better specs such as the Xiaomi Redmi 1S or the Asus Zenphone 5.
