Starmobile Knight vs Cherry Mobile Cosmos X: Specs Comparison

Looking for a detailed specs comparison of the Starmobile Knight vs Cherry Mobile Cosmos X? Together, let us see which is better specs wise and whom to public will most likely prefer.

In my recent review, I’ve concluded the Starmobile Knight as one of the best local quad-core smartphones in the country to date. However, since the announcement of the new Cherry Mobile Cosmos X and other three (3) Cherry Mobile Cosmos Series phones in the market, can the mighty Starmobile Knight maintain its stance again this new wave of smartphone competition?

Basing on the internal hardware of the Starmobile Knight vs Cherry Mobile Cosmos X, both devices are pretty even for most parts. They’ve got the same quad-core processor, GPU, RAM, and ROM. They also have the same camera sensors for both rear and front facing cameras – an 18 MP and 8 MP respectively. What the Starmobile Knight vs Cherry Mobile Cosmos X differ is on the battery and LED flash side.

The Starmobile Knight’s got a little larger battery capacity of 2,000 mAH while the Cherry Mobile Cosmos X only has 1,800 mAh. On the downside though, the Knight’s battery is non-removable unlike the Cherry Mobile Cosmos X which kind of makes it harder to replace the battery in case it’s damaged, dead, or depleted. But on the lighter side, the Starmobile Knight’s got a dual LED flash versus the Cosmos X’s single LED flash.

Again, in terms of physical design, I’m preferring the Starmobile Knight vs Cherry Mobile Cosmos X. Once again, the design aspects of both devices are pretty even but I liked the overall slimness and lightness of the Knight so far. I haven’t gotten the Cosmos X yet on my hands so we’ll see how if my impression changes soon.

In terms of software features and capabilities, there’s nothing the Starmobile Knight can’t do compared to Cherry Mobile Cosmos X and vice versa. Both devices are pretty tied up as software is concerned.

I think this is where the Cherry Mobile Cosmos X is winning big time against the Starmobile Knight – the price. As shown, the Cosmos X is Php 1,291  cheaper compared to the Knight. And obviously, Pinoy’s are very conscious in terms of price tags so the cheap it gets, the better.

My Verdict

Well, both device are very capable, high-end phones and among the best smartphone available in the market to date. Given the specs comparison above, I still prefer the Starmobile Knight over the CM Cosmos X because of its overall design quality and performance though I admit that the Cherry Mobile Cosmos X price tag is really very tempting as well as its removable battery is a major plus point.

    Hi Sir,

Can you do a comparison/review for CM COSMOS X2? Your reviews are very helpful…

    Thank you!

Thanks for the feedback Travis. As of now I don’t have a detailed review for the CM Cosmos X2 but I’m planning to write in the coming days. Just keep posted and subscribe. :)

Cosmos X2 wins a mile and a half from Knight:
      1. Super Amoled HD screen
      2. Extra 200 mAH in battery
      4. 16Gb internal memory
      5. Expandable to 64Gb external microSDXC
      6. Physical “home” button

  2. Xpd Seven August 6, 2013 at 9:49 PM #

this is irrelevant. Starmobile looks like an iPhone 5 and Cherry Mobile Cosmos X2 looks like Galaxy S4. Would you want a copied phone which is bigger then the original iPhone5 or a phone with similar design and dimensions with the original Galaxy S4?

Knight is best in looks. That’s all. the rest it’s similar or inferior to:

Did you know that iPhone5 can easily get mistaken as an iPhone4s?

    Hi Sir,

One more question is Corning Gorilla Glass 2 Scratch proof?

    Thank you!

“Given the specs comparison above, I still prefer the Starmobile Knight over the CM Cosmos X because of its overall design quality and performance” <- they both got almost the same specs (hardware and software wise) so why would you like the Starmobile Knight because of it's performance? Shouldn't they perform identical because of the same processor and same amount of RAM? I bet you only like the Knight because of it's similarity to the iPhone.

    • Jeffrey Diana August 13, 2013 at 9:23 AM #

Hi Eric! Thanks for your feedback. It’s just a matter of personal preference. Since both devices are almost identical specs-wise, I looked into the design then and personally, I liked the Knight.

      • Eric Corbeza August 13, 2013 at 11:51 AM #

Well, you also said that you prefer the Knight over the Cosmos X because of the performance, would you mind telling us the difference between the performance of the two?
For me, your statement can and will mislead a lot of customers who are going to choose between buying the Knight or the Cosmos X.

        • Khael Hart August 21, 2013 at 1:16 PM #

You’re right eric but as what jeff said it’s personal pref and parang nasabi nya rin na di nya pa nasusubukan ang cosmos so lets just leave it there and have the buyers decide.

Currently using optimus g and will buy lg g2 once available here sa pinas. D best artphone in the market.:-)

          • Eric Corbeza August 22, 2013 at 12:27 AM #

I don’t mind that he prefers the design of the Knight, pero pati sa performance?

I’m currently using a BB something. LOL. Though I’ll upgrade to a Lumia 1020 once it is released here.

          • Khael Hart August 22, 2013 at 4:57 AM #

Hahaha.. i understand what you mean and i definitely agree. I love taking pictures using my phone and 1020 is definitely the best choice for me pero mas bumilib talaga ako sa lg g2. Try mo read ung reviews about the phone. I already know everything about the 1020.hehe

          • Eric Corbeza August 22, 2013 at 7:57 AM #

I’ve already read the reviews, it’s just that I’m already tired of android. I also don’t like phones bigger than 5 inches eh… medyo unwieldy na para sa kin.

          • Khael Hart August 22, 2013 at 10:06 AM #

Kahit 5.2 inch ung dsplay ng g2 halos kasing laki na xa ng 4.7inch dsplay na htc one.hehe..tignan mo ung review ng phone.uu im planning to go windows din soon.1020 is d best cam phone.nxt is g2 or ang bagong sony codename honami

          • Eric Corbeza August 22, 2013 at 10:39 AM #

Nabasa ko na nga… There’s no problem with the phone except it’s size.. ang main reason ko is because I’M TIRED OF ANDROID na nga…

  5. Gale Cancino August 18, 2013 at 11:51 AM #

    • Jeffrey Diana August 18, 2013 at 12:34 PM #

Yes, I agree with you Gale. Ang non-removable battery is one weakness of the Knight talaga. Hindi naman lahat ng device ay perfect just like any other phone brands like Cherry Mobile, MyPhone, etc. We just have to weigh the pros and cons before deciding what phone to buy.

starmobile knight is better design-wise…. all the rest are just miniscule differences…
