There is really no stopping for the iPhone 5 now. In just a matter of a week, we will finally get a glimpse of the highly anticipated, next generation iPhone during the scheduled official Apple iPhone 5 event on Wednesday, September 12, 2012 to be held at Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, San Francisco, CA.

Today, as the event gets nearer, Apple has just started sending out invitations to the member of the press with a big shadow showing off the number “5” on the invitation’s cover image.  Despite some strong speculations that it will be named as the new iPhone (patterned before the new iPad name), rumors regarding what the next-gen iPhone will be named were finally laid on their graves: the next iPhone will be named as iPhone 5! Possibly giving this hint intentionally, the above image says it all.

Same time last year, we can recall a small disappointment from the public during 2011 iPhone event when Apple dropped the iPhone 5 branding and introduced the iPhone 4S instead which is physically identical with the previous iPhone 4. With this major iPhone update, Apple fanatics are surely going to rush-in to the nearest Apple Stores just to get one on their hands.

For the meantime, here are some of the rumored details about the iPhone 5:

Larger (4-inch) screen display
A thinner, liquid metal front panel
New & smaller dock connector
Nano sim card
New redesigned earphones
iOS update (iOS 6)
4G LTE connectivity

Aside from the iPhone, rumors also pointed out the unveiling of the next generation iPod Nano as well as the iOS 6 (which was first introduced last June) on the same event. Same is true also for the iPad Mini though it is most likely have its own Apple event sometime in October. The Apple iPhone 5 event is set to start at 10 AM Pacific Time (or 1PM Eastern time).
