PCHelp: My desktop Appears and then Disappears after 5 seconds!

Whenever my laptop goes down or malfunctions, it really FREAKS ME OUT! Just last night, after installing a torrent-downloaded software (not to mention its name), my desktop-display gone crazy. Right after a window prompt appeared in the screen requesting me to reboot the unit, my desktop suddenly crashes and my icons as well as my taskbar disappeared all at once. I tried to fix it myself as to what went wrong. I first considered fixing it using TuneUp Repair Wizard of TuneUp Utilities 2008. I checked specific options there that best described my problem and then finally confirmed the action. After the tweak finished, I was disappointed because the problem still exists and my desktop still keeps on appearing and disappearing. The second action that I took was scanning the entire folder of the file I’ve recently downloaded. I had a feeling that the files are corrupted or infected w/ a malicious program (some torrent files do). I scanned it using my antivirus software (NOD32) but it failed to detect any virus or infected files. For the second time, I was disappointed. The third action that I made was restoring my PC using a restore point but I noticed that there wasn’t any restore point available for me since I made a full system cleaning, which deleted my previous restore points, right before the incident happened. I feel unlucky and hopeless.

After fixing it myself and noticed that not any single action works, I finally consulted the internet and searched for possible solutions. As I browse the web, I read different comments, opinions, and suggestions on how to fix the problem. Some of it requires me to edit some stuffs in my registry which I feel hesitant to do because of the possible risks involved. Some also requires me to create a BATCH File (.bat file) which I also feel hesitant to do with. One comment from a forum user really made a great impact on my dilemma saying that the problem might be caused by a spyware, adware, or malware. He then suggested to try downloading a powerful antispyware program and do a full system scan. I tried his suggestion and downloaded SuperAntiSpyware – the software he suggested. It took almost 18 minutes after SuperAntiSpyware finished the full system scan. The software detected several malicious programs in my laptop and then deleted it all. I then checked my desktop and I was satisfied with the result. My desktop no longer disappears and my icons as well as the taskbar are now visible. After all, 18 minutes was worth waiting for.

Here’s the log file after the scan:
